Had the opportunity to check out the new restaurant/bar/bistro at the airport last week, Surdyks Flights. If you are a traveler for business and spend lots of time at the airport this spot is long overdue. When you enter it feels like a European bistro or that you are in Soho in New York. There is wine all around you, a bar, a deli case with cheese and prepared sandwiches on delicious bread and of course all those yummy baked goods Surdyks is known for including their croisants, brioche, cookies, brownies and the latest.... homemade bagels!
There is a full drink menu with clever drinks like the Mpls Overshot an ode to the pilot Ron Matusalem who overshot the MSP airport last year. Try the rockin Narita a blend of saki, domaine canton ginger liquer, soda and basil!
The outfits are super elegant with wings and little pill box hats - check it out!

The sandwich I had was truly awesome. I had the Surdyks Panini 10 which had black forest ham, white cheddar and a sage apricot pesto that was deliciously carmelized on the grill. Alongside there were fresh roasted beets with orange and delicious spicy cornichons that I found out are on sale at the deli in NE Mpls. These little numbers were yummy and would be fun served in a martini!
Next time you are at the airport! Check out Surdyks Flights!
