The US Postal Service has a new program for direct mail that is getting people excited. The way it works is you can print and mail a piece of flat mail (6.25 x 11 or larger) to a complete carrier route of the US Postal service and they will deliver it to every door in the carrier route for the low postage rate of 14.5 for each piece of mail. The program allows you to mail the closest customers to your store, dental office or dry cleaner. If you have a product or service that anyone can use this program deserves a closer look.
The upside of the program is clearly the 14.5 postal rate (versus .30 cents a piece for standard class mail) . The downside of this program is that you have to mail to complete carrier routes including both homes and apartments and you have to prep the mailing yourself. The mailing sizes are not super compatible to what most people are trying to do and the process of figuring out the carrier routes you want, designing your piece, finding your own printer, having cards shipped to you and sorting them and bundling them to take to the closest bulk mail processing unit with 4 pieces of postal paperwork completed properly is more than many folks are interested in.
We have developed a program that guarantees you the 14.5 cent postal rate but we will do the work. You can choose to mail to apartments, homes or both. We mail this program in 5000 piece increments of 5000, 10,000, 15,000 or 20,000 pieces of mail. You can mail in a radius around your location or we can target other carrier routes that may be more advantageous to you. We can sort carrier routes by income leaving of those that may be less desirable. We offer 5 postcard sizes including the two most popular sizes of 4.25 x 5.5, 5.5 x 8.5 all the way up to 11 x 15 and we can print and mail these programs and get you in homes within 7 -15 business days. We process al the mail, we address the cards and get actual lists of homeowners so you know what homes are being delivered to.
So far I have worked these types of programs for:
• A local restaurant that mailed a 11 x 15 to go menu with coupons introducing their new to go service.
• A local appliance store with multiple locations announcing a grand opening of a new store
• A restaurant on the University of MN campus that wanted to reach condo dwellers along the river in downtown Minneapolis
• A car dealer that was having an anniversary sale that wanted to invite the home owners in their neighborhood closest to the store.
• A dental office that was offering a discount on teeth whitening for new customers in their neighborhood.
