Wines under $10

Earlier in the week I was guest hosting with Margery Punnett on the Margery and Elizabeth show on My Talk 107.1. They asked me to suggest some wines under $10 so I reached out to Noelle Star my go-to gal at Surdyks. She came up with this list (ok - I may have added one:)

All Under $10

Surdyks on Hennepin Avenue and University in NE Mpls.

White 1
Torres Sangre de Toro Blanco – a very delicious Spanish white wine that is crisp and light. Food, no food – either works. $8.99/regular price

White 2
Sea Glass Chardonnay – An UNOAKED Chardonnay driven by citrus and apple flavors  – perfect with salads, eggs, pesto…the list goes on and on. $9.99/regular price

Red 1:
La Joya Carmenere – Chilean Carmenere with a bit of Cabernet Franc blended in – it is big and bold with notes of blackberry, fig, leather and dark cocoa. So much wine for so little $ - this is actually one of my staff pics for the Fall Sale. $9.99/regular price

Red 2:
Garnacha de Fuego by Bodegas Breca – Spanish old vine Garnacha with juicy dark fruit and spice flavors that is more impressive than most at this price point. $9.99/regular price

Red 3
Domaine Laroque. A Cab Franc imported from France by the Surdks family this is my hands down favorite table wine under $10. They import it a few times a year so when they have it stock up and buy it by the case. Rich, red and loveley with all foods. $9.99/sale price

Sparkling:
Gazela Sparkling wine – yes, that Gazela of the Vinho Verde fame takes that style and adds a full bubble and a delicate sweetness to the wine. There is enough acidity to keep everything balanced and very delightful to drink. $9.99/regular price
